I think taking an Italian cooking class in Italy is one of the most "touristy" things to do, but honestly I can understand why. It is so much fun and it is great to learn how the Italians cook! I went to the Albergo Ristorante La Griglia near Como.
The first item on the menu was bruschetta. We have all had bruschetta, but this was most likely the best I have ever had. Here are some interesting tips that she taught us...1. take a clove of garlic (with skin still on) and put it in the tomato, basil, olive oil mixture and let it sit for hours. 2. toast your bread, peel another piece of garlic and rub it on each piece of bread then add the tomato mixture. Easy and awesome!
We also learned how to make pasta from scratch, carbonara, veal with mushrooms, and Cutizza for dessert.
